From the moment we source our raw material from managed forests, to making pulp, converting to board and printing coasters, the Katz Group’s supply chain management ensures environmental sensitivity and efficiency.
The Katz group produces in Weisenbach and Grosschirma all of the board required for the three production sites.
All the board manufactured within the Katz Group is a natural product which is produced in compliance with strict environmental regulations.
The basic raw material is exclusively wood obtained from local managed forests. The maintenance of local woods and forests ensures that all trees are felled as part of an ecologically sustainable forestry program. The spruce wood from trees we use originates exclusively from a sustained forestry program.
The definition of a sustained programme means that generally, more trees are planted than felled. Wood-containing recycling paper or chlorine-free bleached pulp is used for the conversion of al the Katz Group board.
Our quality control procedures ensure that the finished product consistently reflects the relevant brand values, and each of the coasters we produce is fully recyclable and biodegradable.
