KATZ kicks off production at new site in Willstätt
After extensive preparations and an extremely busy summer, the moment has finally come: Production has kicked off successfully at our new site in Willstätt. As many of you well know, we pulled out all the stops to set up the corresponding cutting-edge machinery and put it into operation. And despite a slight delay, which is not altogether unexpected in projects of this size, we at KATZ are now outputting our planned production volume.
Heading into the future with innovative technology
This new site marks a crucial milestone in the growth and evolution of KATZ as a company. Among other things, implementing the latest technologies together with custom-tailored solutions proved to be challenging, as the customized had to be meticulously adjusted and integrated into our production process. But the effort more than paid off: With state-of-the-art systems, our production operations at the new site are perfectly prepared for the future. In fact, this investment will not only increase our capacity, but also improve our flexibility and responsiveness.
In addition, the new site is an important step in our growth strategy and will enable us to meet our customers’ needs even better. Not only are we expanding production, but we at KATZ are also working hard on developing a new product line – KATZ Food Board – in order to diversify our portfolio and align ourselves with the way market needs are evolving. However, it’s also important to point out that beverage coasters will continue to be a central pillar of our company and that we’ll continue making them as a top priority. This is not just due to the fact that demand for them is particularly strong right now, but also because they are an unequivocal part of our identity and our success as a business. Ultimately, we’re taking advantage of our decades of experience in this area to continue optimizing quality while also driving innovation in other product segments.
The goal: Improving flexibility and making our lead times shorter
In the coming months, we’ll be optimizing our processes further, and expect that we’ll be able to make our lead times shorter. As you probably know, the hospitality industry experiences particularly busy seasons in the fourth quarter and then in the first quarter of the new year. Our expanded capacity will enable us here at KATZ to efficiently handle this increase in demand and similar increases in other sectors.
A new daily high was achieved in October with the production of around 11.5 million coasters.
